I was born and grew up in the UK. My mother tongue is English. I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a BA Joint Honours degree in French and German before arriving in the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland.

My career has mainly been in the field of education, as a languages teacher as well as a school secretary and librarian, but I also worked for a number of years as part of the administrative team in a real estate agency. With an ongoing passion for language and communication, I have worked as a freelance translator for over ten years, and now have many regular clients in the areas of education, health, music, tourism, real estate and joint ownerships, among others.
